From Sag to Swag

So this is happening... Henry and Charlotte are wearing the same size of diaper! And they work just as fantastically if your babe is crawling and climbing or running and jumping!

Aren't they so cute working in the kitchen together?

My Secret Hobby

Remember when I said that I had an announcement? It isn't that I am going to resign from teaching, and it definitely isn't that I am pregnant (surely, that was the first thought amongst some of you… don't lie).

I have a hobby that no one knows about, and it kind of grew to a point where it became almost odd if I mentioned it after the fact. So, I just didn't say anything to anyone. An innocent omission?

Anyway, my hobby is that I make YouTube videos. I have made countless friends, and just kind of love being creative in a different way… a way that doesn't require me to spend $50 on supplies to make a Pinterest copied project.

So, rather than explain what I do or why, I thought I would share some of my personal top favorite videos.

Hunter visiting Henry in the NICU was one of the sweetest moments that I have ever witnessed, and thinking to record it, but also sharing that sweet moment was something that meant so much to me. This is still one of Hunter's favorite videos to watch!

There are also moments like these. Hunter helped me decorate the tree on the back porch, and while I meant to speed it up to some fun Christmas music, I kept it long and real. He was so talkative that night, and those are memories that I probably would have forgotten and I not picked up this little hobby.

Charlotte's process of learning to crawl wasn't any more exciting on camera than off, but since I had made a few friends on YT and gotten more in the habit of recording the ins and out of our days, I had a nice little progression of her first army crawls to her perfecting the skill!

Announcing that I am pregnant with Henry. I wanted to be a little sneaky about my announcement, but this video really showed how excited my new 'YouTube' friends were and it was nice to feel the love after learning of our fun little surprise!

One unexpected memory that my hobby has captured was not really a fun one, but a real one. The day started as any other day, and ended with me in tears. I lost my dog, Bailey, and happened to be vlogging the day. Again, a day where love from my friends was a lifesaver.

SAHM

A decision has been made. I will become a stay at home mom next year!

I get to play and shop and craft and the naps! Oh, the naps I'll get to take!

Life will be GLORIOUS and EASY as a stay at home mom! Right?

Ok, ok, I promise, I am not this delusional! I have three children well under the age of three (newly turned three when this adventure begins), and this may surprise you, but from time to time I have been known to take care of all of my kids, all awake at the same time (Spring Break, anyone?).

I know it's not going to be easy, but the memories I get to make! I feel so lucky to be able to stay home with my babies next year! And they are excited, too! Just take a look at Henry's face when I told him... he's obviously thrilled.

Poppin' Tags

As many of you may already know, I grew up in the business of thrift stores. Thrift shopping served different purposes in our lives at different times, ranging from a necessity to strictly a hobby, and after having gone this past week, I can officially say that I am obsessed. Like a six year old girl and Frozen.

I was able to shop at one of my dad's outlet stores and finding crazy cool items for $2 each is kind of a rush!

Check out my finds:

In the pile you can see Dr. Marten's (throwback much?), Tom's, Converse chucks for Hunter and Charlotte for now and later in life, gold Sperry's, and OMG.... did you spot those leopard Tory Burch flats?

I also found a cute Coach bag that a little TLC may or may not save, but I can at least say that it was worth a $2 shot. I am a bag lady, what can I say.

I can't wait for Spring Break so that I can go on another opening day!

Turning 30

Turning 30. Yikes. I now know what it means to possibly go through a mid life crisis. Not really, but at least now I know why/how people go through them.

My 30th birthday dinner was spent with my husband and kids, all under the age of 3, remember? Well, my mom thought that it would be a good idea to surprise me by having one of my best friends and he husband and two new babies show up at dinner and that was a total win.

But then the elder two of my kids totally boycotted the whole waiting thing when we were waiting while the restaurant figured out how they lost our reservation. Then they tried to make it up to us by putting 13 chairs and car seat slings around a table made for 8. We complained, they moved us. (but seriously, it was comical with us trying to figure out how and where to sit and place babies... only to all sit down and decide we just can't do it)

Then my son who is kinda potty training, kinda not, went pee pee in the big potty at the restaurant, but while we were still flying high on cloud nine he went poo poo in his pull up. So much that it all smushed up and leaked out all over his jeans. We also forgot clean pants. That meant that Tim had to sit in the truck watching Nemo with him while we ate our dinner. Then the babies woke up and that was fun. I mean not fun. Because they weren't happy. No, there are no pictures, because there was either conversation or chaos.

Ahhhh... such is life.

Don't get me wrong. I love my husband, babies, family, and friends.

I just got a flash of what a monumental birthday would look like if we didn't have three children still in diapers.

I got a flash of those time before kids when we thought that we couldn't afford a fun getaway, yet here we are making these hefty weekly child care payments.

Those days when I would come home from work and then that would be the end of my work day, and now there is still mommy work to do. All. Night. Long.

Like I said, I LOVE my family, and I am SO incredibly lucky to have my three healthy, gorgeous babies. But sometimes, just for a second, I catch myself thinking... what would have happened if we had not taken this fork in the road?

The path less traveled? I'm not sure. [ reference: Robert Frost ] {If you don't remember, you should go back to high school English :) }

I chose the right path, it is just hard right now. The things that are worth the most in life are never easy, amIright?

Don't read too much into this. I am not the only momma who looks at life and just for a second wonders what her life would be if she had done this different or that different. Only a second.

Maybe, I just need a vacation :) A cruise, a resort, a beach, a tan...

Since I've Been Gone

Ahhhhh, I can breathe for the first time.....

Kelly Clarkson references aside, so much has happened since I said that I was coming back last time.

Charlotte started crawling.

Hunter remained awesome.

I found out I was pregnant. What?!

Charlotte turned one. Hunter turned two.

Hunter and Charlotte had an awesome joint birthday party themed Pirates and Mermaids. (I can see many fun joint party themes in our future.)

We found out that Hunter and Charlotte would have a baby brother. Henry.

Family trip to Florida.

Mom took the kids and her big belly to Montana with out daddy. Worst. Idea. Ever.

Henry was born.

Chaos ensued. Fatigue took over.

And now, three under three is our new normal :)

I'm back folks... and I have an exciting announcement :) Leave your guesses down below!

Where Have I Been?!

Wow. I guess I took a little vacation from blogging? I've been busy with life and haven't had time to blog like I could before, and believe it or not, it's not because I have 2 under 2. School is keeping me incredibly busy this year, as well as a few new hobbies. I've been sewing and I LOVE it. I made these adorable ruffle leggings for Charlotte. I bought a few pairs for her on etsy around Christmas, but definitely didn't want to continue to pay $18 a pop just so that she could have every color under the sun.

There are slight imperfections, but I LOVE them, and can't wait to make more! I promise, I'll update more often, coming soon is a 21 month update on the Hunt-Man and a 9 month update on Miss Charlotte.

Speaking of, can you believe that I was starting to freak out about a party for Hunter starting at 7 months old, and this year I have a double party to plan and have barely just thought of the theme? Eek. I don't know if I was highly overthinking it last year, or if I'm procrastinating this year, haha!

I'll leave you with a few recent pictures of my babies, because they are just so cute, and I'm sure you're having withdrawals!
